Set it up at home
01
Before adding another stop, rank the existing experiences as essential, valuable and optional.
Protect the one you came for, then remove the least valuable distant item when the day needs breathing room.
02
Write one representative day from hotel departure to return.
Include checkout, luggage, each door-to-door journey, entry procedures, the visit itself and a meal; use the actual booking time rather than an optimistic sightseeing duration alone.
03
Group nearby experiences into a coherent half-day.
If a short stop requires a long cross-city detour, compare the whole detour with staying longer somewhere you already enjoy. Keep a second version of the day with that stop removed.
