Who is responsible
This notice explains how MyChinaTrip handles information when you use our website and trip assistance. For privacy questions, access requests or deletion requests, email support@mychinatrip.app, with “Privacy” in the subject.

An email address is needed for an account and email delivery. You can begin with an anonymous question; “anonymous” here means without a signed-in account, not that the service stores no information. Trip details are used according to what you submit. You do not need to provide a passport number or full payment-card details merely to ask a travel question. Remove unnecessary identifiers from documents before sending them.
Where information goes
Our application uses Cloudflare for hosting and processing. Account and trip records are stored in Cloudflare D1 databases. Uploaded material can be stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Some drafts, saved selections and continuity information are also stored in your browser. The service is not local-only.
Relevant questions, conversation context, trip information and extracted material are sent to AI services to generate answers. We use DeepSeek for answers and supported image reading, and Volcengine/ByteDance for search and supported material processing. A search request can send a query derived from your question to the search provider. If you submit a supported video link, VidNavigator may process the link and its content to extract text. Not every provider is used for every request. These services operate under their applicable terms and privacy policies; we do not promise that every external provider has zero retention or excludes all use for model improvement. Avoid submitting information unnecessary for your travel request.
Resend is used for configured sign-in, service and subscription email delivery. Support mail is handled through our Feishu/Lark mailbox. Waffo processes checkout and payment information. We send the checkout information needed for your order and receive order, payment and refund records; our checkout flow does not ask you to enter full card details into a MyChinaTrip form. Waffo's own handling of payment data is explained in its Privacy Policy.
Location, route and weather lookups use AMap. Requests can include the locations relevant to your trip. A map or embedded media can connect your browser to its provider when loaded; following a link to an external page also makes your browser subject to that provider's data handling. External providers may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details.
Data may be processed outside your country. Our main account and trip database is hosted in Cloudflare's Western North America region; Cloudflare's network and storage services can process data in other locations. The email sending region is US East, and the model, search and mapping services above include processing in China. We do not offer a single-country storage guarantee. Transfers and processing are subject to applicable law and the relevant providers' service terms. Contact our privacy address for information about a particular request or provider and any safeguards applicable to it.
Email choices
Sign-in emails let you access your account. Watch emails concern enabled trip alerts and can be turned off in that trip's Email watch settings without turning off the in-trip alerts. Essential account or purchase correspondence is separate from an optional newsletter.
Public travel-update emails are an optional subscription, separate from signing in or purchasing a Pass. Use the unsubscribe link in those updates to stop them. Unsubscribing from public updates does not cancel your Trip Pass or remove the need for account and purchase correspondence.
Retention
Using up purchased help or receiving a refund does not itself delete your account or trip data. Your saved trip, conversations, Kit and retained uploaded material stay readable and downloadable until you delete them or request account deletion; there is no refund-specific deletion countdown. Browser storage also has its own lifetime; see Cookies & browser storage.
Original files and the information extracted from them can have different lifetimes. Unless you choose to keep a private original where that option is offered, uploaded originals are temporary processing copies, scheduled for cleanup after processing or expiry. The default temporary-original expiry is 24 hours; queued cleanup can take longer if processing or deletion fails. Originals you explicitly choose to keep remain with your saved material until removed. Removing an original does not itself remove extracted text, answers or saved trip content.
We retain account and trip records to keep the service you have saved available, and support records while needed to handle a request and related disputes. Anonymous sessions and technical records may remain after you close the browser; browser clearing does not delete server records. Security, accounting, payment and dispute records can be kept for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or required by law. Backup copies can remain until replaced or expired and are not used to restore deleted information to normal service. Provider-held records follow the applicable provider's retention terms. We do not promise automatic deletion of all records after a fixed service period.
Your data and choices
The account-content export provides a JSON copy of your account details, saved trips and trip content, account conversations and Trip Pass status. It is a product-content export, not a copy of every internal record. Original uploaded files are not embedded in that export. For a wider access request, including information not in the export, use the privacy contact above.
You can request account deletion through Account where available, or by emailing the privacy contact. Confirming deletion in Account starts removal of your account content and revokes access; check the returned status for completion or anything still being processed. For requests by email, we may ask you to verify control of the account before disclosing or deleting records. Deletion covers connected account and trip content, conversations, stored memories and linked channels, subject to lawful retention exceptions; we coordinate applicable provider requests as necessary. We respond within the period required by applicable law. Clearing browser storage removes browser copies, not server records; downloaded copies remain on your own device.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of information, restrict processing, object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to the data-protection authority in your country or the authority with jurisdiction over the issue. A request will be assessed under the law that applies to it; this notice does not remove your rights.
Processing grounds, sensitive information and updates
Where a legal basis is required, we process information to provide the service you request and fulfil a purchase, comply with legal obligations, and pursue legitimate interests such as maintaining security and resolving problems where those interests do not override your rights. Optional newsletters rely on your opt-in, which you can withdraw. Where consent is required for a particular use, we seek it separately.
Share health, accessibility or other sensitive details only when relevant and when you are comfortable with their use in the requested assistance; you can ask us to remove them. For companions, share only information you have permission to provide. The service is not directed at children under 13. Other minors should use it with a parent or guardian's permission and supervision; an adult must authorise purchases. Contact us if a child has provided information without appropriate permission.
AI is used to generate travel assistance. A suggested trip change is presented for your confirmation; it does not itself make an external booking or decide your immigration eligibility. We do not use these travel suggestions to make legal or similarly significant decisions about you.
We will date changes to this notice and explain material changes to how information is used. For questions or requests, use the privacy contact identified above.
