Mogao Caves: a guided half-day with hotel transfers

Getting there and back: Return hotel minibus to the Digital Exhibition Centre, then reserved films and shuttle to the caves; do not drive directly to the caves for ticket purchase. The selected half-day product returns to your Dunhuang hotel.

Time and walking: The title's 3 hours and itinerary's 4 hours differ; allow a half-day 3–4-hour band and arrange transfers around your actual entry session. The platform's attraction page suggests 3–5 hours; this is not a hotel-return duration promised by the selected product. Vehicle and cinema sections are seated; guided cave visits require walking. A wheelchair-accessible product label does not mean every cave is step-free.

Tickets and timing: Real-name ticket, person and ID must match. Product booking requests passport name, number, expiry and nationality; bring a valid passport. Timed real-name entry: arrive 30 minutes early at the Digital Exhibition Centre. Foreign passport holders use Ticket Booking in the official service account. Daily capacity: 6000 regular, 12000 emergency tickets. Ticket type changes the 8-cave/4-cave experience; date-specific availability was not checked. The 2026 notice gives April–November 08:00–18:00, last ticket check 16:10; winter 09:00–17:00, last check 15:10. The reviewed half-day product lists admission included and starts at US$248.77, without a selected date. This is not standalone scenic admission. Heavy rain or sandstorms may cause temporary closure; follow the official day-of notice.

Who it suits: Suits murals, Buddhist art and Silk Road history, reserving the session before transfers. Less suitable if you want walk-in freedom without session/guided-visit constraints. Regular/emergency tickets cover different cave counts. A seller offering reservations is not proof of official authorisation; confirm ticket type and official booking record. English cave guiding does not mean the films share that language. Physical caves and mural detail with explanation provide a substantial cultural half day alongside Dunhuang's natural scenery.
