Stay for the town’s changing rhythm
Changing old-town rhythms
Take a slower half-day among village lanes, small cafés and mountain views outside Lijiang.
Getting there and back: Taxi from urban Lijiang to Baisha; another visitor reached it by public bus. A Trip Moments submission reports about 25 minutes by taxi, without establishing every hotel's starting point.
Time and walking: The reviewed submission describes a Baisha-only half day; a full day including Yuhu is different. Lane strolling and cafe stops; rooftop photography may require stairs and is optional. Cafes offer seated snow-mountain views; lanes still involve walking.
Who it suits: Suits old-town cafes, snacks and a snow-mountain backdrop with fewer transfers. Less suitable if you expect a visitor-free, entirely uncommercialised old town. Baisha can still be busy. Cafe-rooftop climbing need not be part of a low-effort route. Visitors particularly enjoy the combination of snow-mountain backdrop, cafes and snacks.
