Meet history carved into stone
Buddhist stone carving
Compare temple courtyards with colossal cliff carvings on a day tracing Buddhist art.
Getting there and back: Private pickup within specified Luoyang city areas with an English-speaking guide, starting at White Horse Temple. The first leg to White Horse Temple takes about 50 minutes; this is not the drive to Longmen. Pickup within the specified city area at 08:00. Private return within the specified Luoyang transfer area at 18:00. Planned city return is 18:00, not a public last service.
Time and walking: Full-day window: 08:00–18:00, including White Horse Temple, Guanlin and Longmen. White Horse Temple: 2 hours; main Guanlin section: 1 hour; main Longmen section: 3 hours. Temple/cave sub-items are not added again. Longmen involves substantial walking and many stairs; entrance transfers do not remove grotto-area walking. Both 2026 and 2024 reviews describe many stairs to upper Buddhas and uneven stone paths.
Tickets and timing: Bring the same valid ID/passport used for this product's booking; this admission-use condition is not extended to every ticket type. This package includes admission, transfers and English guide; lunch is extra. A current selected-date price was not established.
Who it suits: Suits Buddhist temples and stone-carving art, with a full cultural day and ability to climb stairs. This product is not bookable for wheelchair users; it also suits poorly if stairs trouble your knees/legs or you want Longmen as an easy short stop. Longmen is the afternoon section with much walking. Stop nodes overlap; do not add every cave again or treat night-visit reviews as an included night ticket. White Horse Temple spaces and Longmen's giant carvings offer cultural contrast in one day; visitors find the Buddhas larger than expected. Shaolin Temple and Pagoda Forest without a mountain climb: Both are full-day bands; compare actual total windows, walking and themes rather than treating them as physically equivalent.
Arrange the date and time with the provider before putting this in your day.
