Nanshan pastures: Wulastai and Shenbulake

Trade the city for open grassland, mountain valleys and a day in the pastures.

Getting there and back: Arrange your own transfer to Xidan shopping centre on Beijing South Road (北京南路西单商场) or Kongque Ducheng Hotel (孔雀都城酒店), then coach; this is not hotel pickup. The listed outbound coach takes about 1 hour 25 minutes, excluding accommodation–meeting point travel. Meeting times: 08:20 at Xidan shopping centre or 09:00 at Kongque Ducheng Hotel. The coach drops off at the Orange Hotel at Kongque Building (孔雀楼桔子酒店); arrange your own return to the original hotel. The product's return coach takes 1.5 hours, excluding the final hotel transfer. Drop-off is 17:00, not the public last service across Nanshan.

Time and walking: 08:20/09:00–17:00, about 8 hours to 8 hours 40 minutes, plus hotel transfers. Nanshan: 1 hour; Wulastai: 1.5 hours; Shenbulake: 1.5 hours.

Tickets and timing: Initial admissions are listed as included; a final comparable same-date/package price was not established. A May 2026 review of another Nanshan product describes wind. Scenery may not be uniformly green; this does not make all May visits poor.

Who it suits: Suits pastures/grassland scenery away from the city, accepting fixed meeting points and a Chinese-speaking driver. Less suitable for all-English guiding or a clearly evidenced low-walking route. English reception is not English explanation; guide is excluded and not every hotel receives a return transfer. Grassland photos do not guarantee green conditions on your date. Pastures, valleys and open grassland offer a day different from Tianchi's lake scenery. Tianshan Grand Canyon with hotel transfers: Both are roughly 8-hour outings: Grand Canyon emphasises valley walking and transfers; Nanshan multiple pasture stops. Check language and physical effort separately.
