Begin Urumqi at the bazaar
Bazaar & city context
Spend a day among mountain water, snowy peaks and lakeside paths outside Urumqi.
Getting there and back: Pickup within Urumqi's outer ring, private car to the visitor centre, then scenic bus uphill. 08:00 pickup and 09:30–10:00 visitor-centre arrival imply about 1.5–2 hours driving, followed by another roughly 40-minute scenic bus. Selected English Package B departs at 08:00, not a public first service. The product returns privately to the agreed point within Urumqi's outer ring. Selected product return is 18:00, not a public last service.
Time and walking: 08:00–18:00, about 10 hours when your hotel is within the outer-ring transfer area. Tianchi: 2 hours; Dinghai Shenzhen: 30 minutes; Queen Mother of the West Temple: 30 minutes. Lunch 1 hour and cable-car activity 2 hours are listed separately, according to package. Lakeside paths are central. A 2024 visitor encountered about 10 minutes of wooden stairs; this does not mean the whole day has only 10 minutes walking. The Maya Mountain direction has steep slopes; cable car/shuttle does not remove climbing from every path. Vehicle, scenic shuttle and package cable car can reduce some walking; lakeside sightseeing remains on foot.
Tickets and timing: This product requests full name, booking phone number and valid ID, explicitly accepting passports; no additional scenic-wide real-name system is inferred. Reviewed English Package B includes admission and scenic bus. The page starts at US$271.03 per person, minimum 2, without a final selected-date quote.
Who it suits: Suits a full day for an alpine lake, English explanation and a relatively unhurried pace. Less suitable for a gentle short half day or the expectation that a cable car eliminates all walking. Choose language and cable-car cost coverage clearly. A 2026 visitor found some extras expensive; the lakeside path deserves time itself. Lake, snow-mountain backdrop and lakeside paths make a distinct alpine day outside Urumqi. Nanshan pastures: Wulastai and Shenbulake: Both are full-day outings: Nanshan emphasises pastures/grasslands and fixed meeting points; Tianchi emphasises an alpine lake with optional English private service.
Arrange the date and time with the provider before putting this in your day.
