Follow the hillside lanes above the river

Start from Exit 1 at Shangxinjie for Xiahaoli's stepped lanes and small courtyards. Stop for tea or coffee, then look back through the rooftops towards the bridge. Pick one short section before adding nearby Longmenhao; the hillside steps make a seated break part of a good south-bank afternoon.

This is a restored district with shops and visitors. Repeated stairs matter more than the short distance on a map; keep the loop small if your legs are tired.
