Organ Night with Shen Yuan and Duan Zhiqiang

Let the organ become more than background grandeur. Shen Yuan and Duan Zhiqiang’s programme moves between Shen’s own sea-and-Silk-Road pieces, selections from The Nutcracker, Grieg’s Morning Mood and a concerto involving percussion. Listen for how the instrument changes character across those different settings. This is a useful choice for a group wanting recognisable music and an unfamiliar live sound in the same evening, rather than another piano recital.
