The 29th Beijing Music Festival Closing Concert Yang Yang Conducts the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, with Jian Cui and Xiaofu Ju in a Crossover Gala

The festival closes by letting a symphony orchestra meet Chinese rock. Cui Jian sings in a programme that also includes the Toy Symphony and Chopin’s variations on a Don Giovanni theme, with pianist Xiaofu Ju and conductor Yang Yang. The combination gives you a particular reason to choose this gala: compare familiar concert-hall forces with a different kind of musical voice. Knowing Cui Jian’s songs will deepen the connection, but the crossover itself can be the attraction for an adventurous listener.
