Alipay rejected your overseas card payment

Your linked overseas card did not complete an Alipay payment. Establish the transaction type and actual result before changing methods; a generic decline does not identify the cause.

First · before you try again

  1. Keep the error visible and ask the merchant whether they received payment before paying again.
  2. Identify whether you were making a purchase, scanning a personal-transfer code or still adding/verifying the card.
  3. Show the cashier card and ask which alternative payment method they accept.

Where did it fail?

  1. Alipay-linked international cards do not support person-to-person transfers or red packets; changing the transfer amount does not create that capability.
  2. For an actual shop purchase, ask for a merchant payment route or another accepted method.
If that does not resolve it
  1. The merchant has confirmed the original payment was not received. A personal-transfer route was the issue. Ask for a genuine merchant purchase route.
  2. The merchant has confirmed the original payment was not received. The merchant purchase remains declined. Use an already configured wallet or a card terminal that accepts your card network, if the merchant supports it.
  3. The merchant has confirmed the original payment was not received. Digital/card routes are not available. Ask to settle in RMB cash; if needed, find an ATM accepting international cards and check its terms.
  4. The transaction result or account remains unresolved. Contact Alipay support with the transaction/error details. Agree with staff how to settle the current purchase while the provider investigates.
