AMap asks for a Chinese phone number
Your AMap screen is asking for a mainland phone number. First separate the task you need now—finding a place, saving it or booking a ride—from the registration problem.
- If you need to show a destination now, use the saved Chinese address card while the account issue remains unresolved.
- Note the requested function, app version, language, region and exact prompt; these are needed to establish the relevant registration path.
- Do not treat this screen as proof that every AMap function requires a Chinese number. The overseas policy distinguishes features.
What were you trying to do?
- Try the AMap web place link for the confirmed destination.
If it does not load or asks for login, use the saved Chinese name and full address instead.
- If the current app blocks location search, show the saved Chinese destination and full address to staff, or use another map that already works on your phone.
- AMap’s overseas policy states that default favourites can be used without logging in, while creating custom favourites requires login.
This documents the policy, not the current screen path.
- If favourites are blocked on your screen, save the destination name and full address in offline trip notes and carry on with the outing.
- If your country code is absent or the SMS does not arrive, stop the registration attempt for now.
Record the exact prompt for AMap support and use the destination-card or staffed transport fallback below.
- The developer lists Me → Help & Feedback for support.
If you cannot reach it, the listed service number is 400-810-0080; overseas dialing availability is not established.
- DiDi’s developer documents an English interface, international-number registration and international-card payment options.
Registration, SMS and payment still depend on the actual account.
- If setup would delay you, show the destination card to available hotel/transport staff and ask for help arranging a ride.
If that does not resolve it
- A confirmed AMap POI is available. Try the documented web marker; if a login prompt still blocks it, stop relying on this route.
- Map access is still blocked. Show the offline destination card and ask available staff to confirm the place.
- You need to arrange a car. Use an already working DiDi account if available; otherwise ask staff for transport help while AMap support addresses registration.
