The ordering QR asks for a Chinese number or WeChat login

You are at a restaurant and its ordering screen is asking for a phone number or a WeChat login you cannot complete. Ask staff to help you order now rather than treating account setup as the only route to a meal.

First · before you try again

  1. Keep the blocked screen visible and show it to a member of staff.
  2. Use the Chinese card to ask for a paper menu, staff-assisted order or counter ordering. Ask which of those this restaurant can offer.
  3. If you already pressed submit or pay, ask staff to check whether an order or payment exists before placing it again.

Where are you stuck?

  1. Tell staff your phone cannot complete this step and ask them to take the order.

This does not assume every provider offers guest checkout or accepts every overseas country code.

  2. Ask restaurant staff to enter the order themselves rather than entering a stranger’s phone number or borrowing their account.

Have staff confirm the table or takeaway collection arrangement, dishes, quantities, total and whether payment is due now.

If that does not resolve it
  1. The QR account step is blocking the order. Ask a staff member to take your choices and confirm the table, quantities and prices.
  2. Staff cannot take the order at the table. Ask whether the counter can accept an order or has a printed menu. Confirm whether payment happens before cooking.
  3. Only an unworkable digital route is available. If nothing has been ordered, agree that with staff and choose another meal option. If an order/payment exists, resolve its status with staff before leaving or ordering again.
