Get a taxi when you do not speak Chinese
You need a ride and cannot explain the destination in Chinese. Prepare the exact destination first; use an already working English ride app or ask staffed assistance with the Chinese card.
- Use the Chinese destination name and full address confirmed by the property or venue; do not substitute a similarly named branch.
- Make your current entrance or meeting point explicit before arranging the ride. The exact in-app pickup screen still needs device verification.
- If DiDi already works for you, use the app branch; if setup is blocking you, use the staff-assistance card.
How will you arrange the ride?
- DiDi’s developer documents an English interface and Chinese-English translation in its in-app messaging.
- Before requesting a car, check the pickup point, destination and payment method shown in your actual order.
This is a review checklist, not a verified menu walkthrough.
- Use the in-app messages to explain your entrance or a visible landmark.
Check the reply rather than assuming the translation resolved it.
- The official app description supports international mobile-number registration and international-card payment options; this does not guarantee your SMS or card will work.
- If you need to leave now, ask available hotel or transport staff to arrange a ride and clarify payment with them.
- Show the destination card and ask for confirmation of the place and accepted payment method before proceeding.
If that does not resolve it
- Phone communication is difficult. Use DiDi’s documented bilingual in-app messaging with a clear entrance/landmark.
- Pickup remains unresolved. Use the app’s online English support if available; the developer documents that service. Do not assume cancelling or rebooking is free.
- App use is unavailable. Ask available hotel or transport staff for a taxi arrangement using the card, and agree destination and payment before departure.
- The driver cannot identify the destination. Ask whether the driver would be willing to confirm the address with the property by phone; use the destination-card playbook.
