Before choosing the room rate, decide whether you need sleep, a shower or only somewhere to leave bags.
If immediate room access is essential, request a guaranteed arrangement rather than a note asking for early check-in if possible.

For a guaranteed morning room, ask about booking the previous night or a confirmed early-check-in product.
Give the flight and arrival time, and obtain written confirmation that the room will be held and not treated as an unused overnight booking.

If you can wait, confirm luggage storage, the earliest normal check-in time and any available washroom or rest facilities.
Save the hotel’s Chinese address and front-desk contact before the flight.
