Trade the lake panorama for a working canal

Pause on the public bank by Gongchen Bridge to see the stone arch and passing canal traffic. Explore the Qiaoxi side, then follow the current pedestrian route toward Xiaohe Historic District for smaller waterside lanes. You can stop at either end for a drink; museum visits are optional and separate.

The bridge has steps and the connection uses ordinary streets as well as waterside paths. A map route is useful; this is not a surveyed accessible or continuous towpath route.
