Shanghai: river lights and leafy afternoons

Four calendar days and three nights, with two full sightseeing days for the garden, skyline, museum and leafy streets. A Suzhou day replaces one Shanghai day.

Why this itinerary works

Use the Bund as an evening walk and keep the old city separate from the leafy western streets.

Ancient art at Shanghai Museum East and an afternoon on Wukang Road show the city beyond its towers.

Suzhou replaces day three: trade the museum and Wukang walk for a garden and canal lanes.

    Day 1

    First night on the river

Check in before heading out. Keep the Bund walk short after a long arrival.

    Day 3

Ancient art, then a leafy afternoon

Allow a cross-river journey from Museum East to Wukang Road; shorten the leafy walk if the museum takes longer. The Suzhou swap replaces this whole day with Humble Administrator’s Garden and Pingjiang Road, returning to Shanghai that evening; do not add it on top.

A last Nanjing Road stroll, then departure

Only keep this short walk if your departure allows it; afternoon and evening are clear for travel.
