2. Use Taobao if your existing account and payment already work. For a first purchase with a tight travel schedule, compare JD’s 自营 stock and the delivery estimate to your exact hotel address. Choose an ordinary domestically shipped item; imported, pre-sale, customised or restricted goods can introduce extra identity, dispatch or return requirements that do not suit a short stay.
3. Sign in with a number you can actually receive verification on. At checkout, enter the province, city and district, then the detailed street address and hotel name. Put your agreed guest name or reception reference in the recipient information. Use your own reachable local mobile where possible; use the hotel’s receiving number only with its permission. Keep the account-verification number and parcel-contact number conceptually separate.
4. Set the receiving address before comparing delivery promises. Read the estimated arrival, whether the seller is still preparing the item, and whether different products will arrive separately. Leave spare days before checkout. For a one-night stop or an essential item needed tomorrow morning, buying locally is the more dependable choice.
5. Pay only through the checkout options available to your account and order. If you have only an overseas number, first see whether your account can register and receive its code. The next problem is the courier’s contact: agree a usable receiving number with reception if the address form needs one. Do not invent a Chinese number simply to get past a required field; missed delivery messages may be the only way to locate the parcel.

If your itinerary changes, deal with the parcel before leaving the city. On JD, use the modification path while it is available. If your new address is in another city, ask about cancellation or a separate redelivery arrangement.
