Our takeChoose it for a contrast to peak views, then pair it with a meal and a short city-lake walk.

Where to stay

4 areas, 4 different trips

Map of the 4 areas to stay in Guilin & Yangshuo, with the Forbidden City and other landmarks
1
The city-stop pick

Central Guilin / Ronghu and Shanhu

A city night before a river trip or onward transfer

  • Central lake walks
  • City food choices
  • City sightseeing

Trade-off: Less countryside atmosphere than Yangshuo; cruise departures still need a transfer.

2
The easy-base pick

Yangshuo Town Edge / Guanlian Road

Easy meals and countryside day outings

  • Town restaurants
  • Evening street walks
  • Access to countryside outings

Trade-off: West Street nightlife can be loud; choose a quieter lane outside the busiest block.

3
The countryside pick

Yulong River / Jiuxian

Village stays, cycling and river scenery

  • Karst countryside
  • Village guesthouses
  • River walks and cycling outings

Trade-off: Fewer late meals and more road transfers; water activities depend on conditions.

4
The river-scenery pick

Xingping

Li River scenery and a slower village stay

  • Li River landscape
  • Old-town streets
  • Quiet time outside Yangshuo town

Trade-off: Farther from Yangshuo evenings; confirm which bank and road access the hotel uses.

Our takeOne check before you book: Choose Guilin city, Yangshuo or Xingping by your route, then check the hotel's riverbank and road access.

Getting there & around

Landing in Guilin & Yangshuo, and moving around

Routes from Guilin & Yangshuo's airports into the city centre
Liangjiang Airport (KWL)

Airport shuttle to central Guilin (Minhang Building / 民航大厦): ¥20, about 50–60 minutes; allow about 80 minutes in rush hour. Board outside T2 arrivals Gate 6. From the airport, departures are every 30 minutes at 09:00–15:30, then dispatched according to arrivals through the last flight; check the day’s ticketing system.

Direct airport coaches to Yangshuo County Passenger Service Station (千古情大道2号): about 90 minutes, ¥60. Buy at T2 arrivals Gate 6 or in the 桂林机场 mini-program; use the day’s ticketing system for departure times.

For a taxi to central Guilin, use ¥80–100 as a rough planning allowance, with extra room for traffic, tolls and your hotel’s location; check the meter or app quote.

Guilin North / Guilin / Guilin West stations

Guilin is served by three main stations; check which one your ticket names before arranging pickup.

Yangshuo Railway Station (阳朔站, at Xingping)

The station is about 34 km from West Street; the bus takes about an hour (¥20) plus a short cart ride.

  • No metro: use DiDi, taxis or hotel pickups for the airport and piers; in Yangshuo, bikes and e-bikes are the normal way into the countryside.
  • On Guilin Bus Group regular city routes, activate 桂林市电子公交卡 in Alipay. Alipay and the 桂林鼎睿一卡通 mini-program use the normal fare from 27 August 2026.

Our takeOne move after you land: keep your hotel's address in Chinese to show the driver. Make an address card →
